"One City, Many Kitchens: Burnaby’s Global Cookbook" is a vibrant new release from Burnaby Village Museum, in partnership with United Way BC, the cookbook brings together recipes and personal histories from Burnaby residents. Part cookbook, part local history, this collection features 13 contributors who share dishes that shaped them, alongside the stories those meals still carry: memories of homelands, family traditions passed down through generations and the creativity of adapting cherished foods with locally available ingredients.

Readers will find recipes that reflect Burnaby’s global food scene, from kabuli pulao (Afghanistan) and vegan tropeiro (Brazil), to a beloved sweet-and-sour pork recipe from Burnaby’s Big 6 restaurant. Follow along as we share excerpts from the cookbook.
